Transitioning Your Decor From Summer to Fall

If you were with me last Fall, you'll remember I transitioned my home from Fall to Christmas. We had twinkling lights for Thanksgiving and Christmas slowly emerged over time. I love how this form of decorating was gradual and truly enjoyable.  This year I'm transitioning from Summer to Fall in the same manner. What is transitioning? It's more of a gradual change from seasons. Instead of Fall appearing in one day it appears gradually over time. The trend across the pond and finally emerging in the US is bringing the outdoors in.  My friend Ellen from @featherglass has been doing this forever and does it better than anyone. I'm showcasing her home in this blog post to show you...

Spring Spruce Up!

Hey Friends!  I hope you're having an awesome start to Spring. It's a great season to freshen up (Spruce Up!) everything around your home. Indoors you've probably opened windows to let the fresh air in and outdoors you're probably working on cleaning up everything Winter left behind. I've been fortunate enough to get to do a little bit of both. I feel accomplished when the projects are complete. This week, I was blessed with the opportunity to help a good friend decorate her new home. We talked about the things that make her smile (pics of her kids, flowers, art). We talked about colors, goals & plans for the future of her home. All of the photos in this Blog...

Hey friends!  I hope your week is bright and cheerful. Over the last week I've been busy Sprucing Up our outdoor living spaces. This week I'm featuring our front porch as a topic of discussion.  We've had our hands full, robins have been building nests in my front door wreath (I removed the wreath long enough for them to build their nest someplace else on my front porch.....ugh), we've had to power wash the porch because Winter is mean and dirty, finally I had to dig out a dead shrub that didn't make it due to Mother Nature (picture me looking like a lumberjack digging and chopping roots....feel free to laugh, it was pretty funny!) Then, last but not least, we got...
